Feb 3rd- Andrew Fawcett & Dick Hamer Quintet

Zoe Francis started singing jazz while living in New York attending Dr. Barry Harris workshop on a weekly basis, alongside singing at jams sessions around Brooklyn and Manhattan including Arturos in Greenwich Village where resident pianist Harry Whitaker plays with his trio and Smalls after hours jam.

Before long she had long running spots in midtown Manhattan working with great musicians including Warren Vache, Joe Cohn, Chris Flory, Harry Allen, Alvester Garnett, Steve Ash and Harry Whitaker.

Andrew & Dick will be performing the Greg Fishman duets.... - beautifully counterpointed alternative melodies to jazz standards that everybody knows. Sweet.

    £5/7

10th February- The Stuart Power trio

Stuart Power- guitar, Aidan Thorne- bass, Mark O'Connor

Inspired by some of the 'great' piano and guitar trios, this group uses the standard jazz repertoire to explore the subtle interplay that is possible between such a small group. As a guitarist, Stuart's sound has a firm grounding in  the jazz tradition. Choosing to play with a clean tone, citing Charlie Christian, Wes Montgomery, Jim Hall and Peter Bernstein as major influences. Aidan is a deeply creative musician with a strong sense of melody and solid swing feel. Mark is widely known as an incredibly sensitive drummer. He's contribution to any group is always inspired and is the perfect backbone to the trio.
